Four rules around which religion gravitates
It is as the title indicates the enumeration of four fundamental rules around which all religious judgments gravitate and whatever discipline is treated.
In this epistle, the author speaks of the obligation to follow up the evidence from the texts of the Qur'an and the prophetic tradition, even if they are in contradiction with the advice of some scholars or some legal schools... ... he clearly appears to the reader that the author's objective is to give to him who will study these two epistles the fundamental rules that will be of great help in the understanding of religion. And as Sheikh Al Islam Ibn Taymiya said: "It is imperative that man have general foundations to which he will return refined secondary subjects to treat them with science and accuracy..."
