A long time ago in Egypt, a pharaoh reigned over the country as a tyrant. He oppressed the people and especially the descendants of Ya’qoub (peace be upon him), known as the sons of Israel (Bani Israel). He used all the means to lower them and humiliate them. They were enslaved and forced to work for him for free or in exchange for small wages. Pharaoh had forced people to obey him and worship him. He had divided the people of Egypt into several groups and tribes to better mount them against each other. At that time Egypt was the most powerful country and power rested in the hands of a handful of people. Pharaoh and his ministers led the country as if the life of the people had no value.
