Allah ('azawajjal) said in that which is the meaning of His Word: "He who was dead and whom We brought back to life [par la foi], attributing him a light thanks to which he walks among the people, is he like that which wanders in darkness without being able to come out? (Sourate al-An’am, v.122).
He thus compared faith and Islam to the soul that gave life to the body, whoever is deprived of it is like death, even if he thinks he is alive.

The Imam Al-Ghazali whom Allah covers him with his mercy, considered the condition of the Muslim community at his time and said: “As for the science of the way leading to the beyond, on which the pious predecessors walked, and that Allah ('azawajjal) appointed in his Book: understanding (fiqh), wisdom, science, shine, light, guided and righteousness, it is totally ignored.
This being a disastrous cut to religion, and a dark misfortune, I considered that I had to compose this important book in order to revitalize the sciences of religion, unveil, unveil the ways of past imams, and expose the splendour of the useful sciences of the prophets and pious predecessors. »
This marked the departure of his monumental work: Revivification of the sciences of religion. Although his work has been controversial and criticized, the scholars have not completely discarded it, and many of them have attached themselves to the expurger. It is to this immense work that one after the other imam Ibn Al-Jawzî and Ibn Qudâmah, have performed, in order to keep only the quintessence.
